James, Thanks for the feedback. Your information confirms information that I have. 1) Assumming WASH and Davis were brothers 2) Davis(David,Dave) Swan married Ella (Sledge) and had kids. 3) a decade or two later, Davis' kids can be found back living in Mississippi. I'm still trying to discover who Davis & Wash's other brothers& sisters are. And or course who their parents are. I've got several confusing leads. a) Davis Swan & Ella Sledge are from the same county (in Alabama). I crossreferenced Swan & Sledge to identify counties where both Swans & Sledges lived... Sumter, Hale, Dallas & one I can't remember. -Need Will information. b) The 1860 & 1870 Alabama census show there are a high number of African American Swan's living in Blount county Alabama, including a white male named George Wash. Swan. c) 1860 & 1870 Alabama census shows a large number of Swans living in Belmont, Sumter County. I believe some of these name evently show up in Yazoo or Hinds County Mississippi. The same place where my Great Grandfather lived. d) If I'm lucky Davis (david,Dave) Swan named his children after his brothers, sisters & perhaps parents. After all one of his children is named "Geo". My great grndfather's full name was George "Wash" Swan. e) African American's oftened named there children after their owners or owner's children. Someone who have kids named (Davis,Dave, david) and George Wash could be linked to my great grandfather. All the above roads won't mean much without establishing real relationships through Wills,Probate records & etc. James, If you find any information that could help..... Thanks for your efforts. Bernard P.S.- I received your mailing. Sorry for the delay but sometimes I have to step away. Notify Administrator about this message?
