The only documented record I've come across for Swangers in NJ prior to 1800 is the marriage of Isaac Swanger there in 1768. That fits nicely with Anne (Nancy) Swanger's birth in Trenton in 1771. Isaac was a son of the immigrant Jacob Schwanger. Isaac and his parents and brothers lived during that period in Lancaster, Berks, Lebanon, and Cumberland Cos. of PA, except for Isaac brief excursion into NJ. Isaac and his wife had (apparently) six children, three boys and three girls. I have tentatively identified two of the boys and one of the girls; Anne (Nancy) could be another of the daughters. Isaac and his children moved prior to 1804 to Warren Co., OH which is immediately adjacent to Greene Co. There are identified Swanger descendents from Isaac's sons in that area to this day, but there are also Swangers and Swongers from other branches of the family. My best guess is that Nancy is a daughter of Isaac. Write me at AKS@URI.EDU if you want to discuss this further.
