Samuel J. Swanders, Ex-papermaker, Dies
Samuel J. Swanders, 69, who has been ill for three years, died Sunday evening at his home 117 East Emerson Street. He was born August 7, 1875 in Garrett, Ind., the son of John and Mary Swanders. Before his retirement 17 years ago he was employed by the Allied Paper Mills.
Survivors are his wife, Mary Swanders; one daughter and three sons, Mrs. Rosetta Smith, Nathan, Howard, and Henry Swanders, all of Kalamazoo, two brothers, Ervin Swanders. of Kalamazoo, and William Swanders of Toledo, and 10 grandchildren.
(He married Mary Louise Baughman December 28, 1898.)
