Hi Karen,
Have been putting your info on my FTM and have been slowly putting together questions. So bare with me here.
First I was born Delores Ann Poo(Butcher) on March 29, 1947 -we are looking at the big 55 soon!! Plus I was born at Sherman, Grayson County, Texas. We were not too far from each other-just a couple of counties! I have one sister Linda Carol Pool born Sept 18, 1945 -same place. This is cool!! My dad Sidney Melton Pool was born November 6, 1922 in Lubbock, Hale Co, Texas and my mom, Annie Jewel Bounds Pool was born November 15, 1924.They were wed Oct 20, 1943 in Sherman. My dad passed away on May 16, 1997 here in Moab, Utah. My mom is still living and in an extended care with dementia.
I use to live in San Diego back in the late 1960's-Vietnam -Navy wife etc. I loved it there then. Don't ever want to go back to California. Too busy, too many people! And yes, Moab is awesome and I wish the tourists would go away! We are nothing but gift shops, fast food and motels now. But it is still the most beautiful place I have ever been and we came here in 1961.
I would like a copy of your Swagerty Family Reunion list. I have a Swagerty Roster for 1921 and one for 1973, if you are intrerested. I have a family group picture courtesy of James Branch with you Leaticia Jane and seven of her syblings plus their dad. Are you interested or do you have it????
I love your stories about the farm and it made me think of my grannies and how they lived.
My Granny Pool (whose husband was Andrew Clayton Pool and his mom was Sarah Ella Swagerty, daughter of Andrew Jackson, brother to your Leatitica) lost her first baby and two of her cousins that were expecting at the time of the flu epidemic. Granny- Myrtle Lee Landrum Pool is buried next to one of them in an old Cemetery in Grayson Co. She died 60 years after they did.
Would like dates that you have to complete the group sheets. Will send you what ever of mine you want.
Do you know anything about Easter Swagerty Caldwell being murdered? Sister to you Leaticia and my Andrew. Later, Have enjoyed hearing from you, Dodie Pool Butcher
