Comments on the Marrs fam:
JH Marrs listed as father of Sarah E Marrs Swagerty, was evidently the James Houston Marrs, son of Issac & Catherine (???)Marrs, who md (1?)Talitha Cumi(Martha?)Landers, dau of Issac Landers & Nancy(Jane?)Swagerty. James & Telitha were listed in 1850 FC of Wash Co, AR, although they had evidently resided in MO someime during the 1840's, and they moved to KS by 1860.
The 1880 FC of Linn Co, KS listed James H Marrs 58 KYVAKY, Harriet 11 KSKYAR & Sarah 5 KSKYAR.I have not found yet viewed the 1870 FC of p564 Timber Hill Tp, Bourbon Co, KS that listed James Marrs, according to 1870 KS FC Index, as I just found info from both these FC's in last few days.
The 1895 KS State Census listed JS in Stanton Tp, Linn Co, KS as 70 b AR/from MO with SE 20 KS, and Ollie (f) 5 KS & Wm P 3 KS.
The 1900 FC of Linn Co, KS listed, on 3rd St, Blue Mound, Blue Mound Tp, Sarah Elizabeth Swagerty b Feb 1874 (would be 1875, if 5 after June 1, 1880)26 KSILIL wd 3ch/2 living, Ollie (dau) b Nov 1891 8 KSTXKS & Wm P b Aug 1893 6 KSTXKS.I would love to know what happened to these two little Swagerty ch, as I have not found them in 1910, mainly because the 1910 FC was released in 1982, the same year I wrote a summary of my Swagerty researh and moved on to other pursuits.
If the pic of "Jonathan & Jane" was of him & Rachel, it seems like I would have found hre listed as Jane/RJ/Rachel J in at least one of the Fed/State censuses of Linn Co, KS of 1860, 1865, 1870, 1875, 1880, or 1885, but she was always listed as Rachel, and nothing else.
I will continue with ch of Thos Swagerty & Anna Manning, shortly, a little later, Richard.
