Last night, I found an old photograph of my great-grandmother. On the back of the photo was the Swafford name but I can't make out the word underneath. I went to the internet to find information on "Swafford" and found Karl Swafford of Corpus Christi. He is famous for making postcards of the area, and his company was Swafford Company. Does anyone know about him? The years he worked as a photographer? Did he do snapshots in addition to postcards?
The picture I have is of two women sitting in a small boat - can't see much of the shoreline because the boat is on or near it and the background is offshore. So did the Swafford Company make photographic paper? Like Kodak Paper, the logo you see on the backs of pictures? I don't know if it was a Swafford Company picture or just a pic printed on their paper. Any ideas?
Most importantly, I'm trying to date the photograph. Knowing when Karl Swafford and his company were in business would help. Thanks a lot.
