I remember coming across a reference for a book about the "lost" Swaffords. Anyone know of it? I cannot find my relatives in Ray Swafford's book about the eight brothers migrating from NC. I think that perhaps my ggg.grandfather, Thomas, came from Virginia. Born about 1809, married Celanie, and had six children: James, Wesley, Mary Ann (Julian?) Joseph (my gg.grandfather), P. A. and Caroline (all born in Tenn.) Joseph at least, ended up in Wayne County, Missouri. In 1850, the family was listed in the census for Union County, Il. Can anyone give me a clue----
