I was told by more than one person from Germany that Swackhamer literally translated meant weak hammer or light hammer. During the time when German cities had cobblestone streets the cobblestones had to be set in place. Swackhamer = man with the light hammer was the person to set the stones. True or not? Don't know but two germans independently provided me this information. Roy
