It has been some time since I corresponded with Darrell Sutterfield & others on this forum regarding Delphia Avey & Waco Sutterfield. I research the Avey name & received info from Darrell about Waco a few yrs ago. Two questions: 1) when & where did they marry? I couldn't find marriage record in Stone Co AR. 2) where is Delphia in the 1920 & 1930 census? I found the following census info for Waco: 1910 Searcy Co AR, Bear Creek township Sutterfield, William W, 39, Ar Ar Ar, mar 1 time, 15 or 18 yrs Nora, 33, mar 1 time, 5 children/5 living Lillie, dau, 17 or 19 Theodore, son, 14 Edward, son, 10 Jesse, 6 Waco, 2 1920 Searcy Co AR, Bear Creek township Sutterfield, William W., 50, Ar Ar Ar Nora, wife, 43, Ar Ar Ar Theodore, son, 24, Ar Ar Ar Edward, son, 19, Ar Ar Ar Jesse, son, 16, Ar Ar Ar Waco, son, 12, Ar Ar Ar In 1930 AR census I couldn't find Waco in Searcy, Baxter, or Stone Counties in Arkansas, but I found the following, which could be the right one ? : 1930 Washington Co AR, West Fork township: Hames, Robert W, 36, Ar Ar Ar Jewel C., 34, Ar Ar Ar Robert J, 7, Ar Ar Ar Sutterfield, Doyle W, lodger, 22, Ar Ar Ar Willson, Phillip, lodger, 40, Ar Ar Ar Since I don't know when Wace & Delphia married, I'm not sure about the 1930 information. I found the obit for Delphia in the obit books kept by the Stone County Arkansas Historical Society at the Stone County Museum, as follows: Delphia Maye Sutterfield, born January 12, 1908 in Stone County, Arkansas, died September 14, 1978 in Mountain View General Hospital at age 70. She was a member of Dugan Free Pentecost Church. Surviving her is a son, Ivan Sutterfield of Tustin, Calif., three daughters, Mrs. Aileen Taylor of Mtn. View, Mrs. Grace Franks of Shirley, Mrs. Lillie Johnson of Vallejo, Calif.; ten grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Funeral was 2 p.m. Saturday at First Assembly of God Church with Bro. Tommy Williams officiating. Burial in Levisy Flat Cemetery by Crouch Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Bobby Gower, Douglas Ward, Leon Avey, Wayne Turner, Donald Turner and Vernon Lawrence. In the Searcy Co Cemetery records I found: Waco Sutterfield Nov 3, 1907-May 26, 1936, East Lawn Cemetery, Marshall, Arkansas. In the Stone Co AR marriage records I found: Martha Aileen Sutterfield, 16, Mtn View, AR to Robert E. Taylor 20, Mtn View, AR on 20 Mar 1948.
