Thank you Phyllis for your information. You may have the info about John (SR)'s son. John (SR) was married 3 times.his daughter from his 2nd marriage is named Nancy Hogue and was mentionedin his will.So was his 3rd and last wife Hannah Martin and their 10 chldren:Eliza West, Parmela nderson, Emily, Martha Ann, James,William (who was to be given a bettet education due to his affliction?),John (JR.) R. M., and Benjamin Lee.John Jr., Benjamin Lee, and Peyton moved from Georgia to the Mississippi Delta and became Planters.Accordng to the Madison County 1850 Census of Mississippi they were worth between $4000 and $10,000 and Peyton owned over 60 slaves of which he freed and gave land to.I am trying to find the uncle that John (SR) ran away from Sutherland County, Scotland -or- did he run away after reaching the states like maybe Virginia or Maryland?I also wonder did he have other uncles or aunts and also did he have brothers and sisters.I know from extensive research that the names Peyton and Daniel Sutherlandcome together quite often.Peyton and Daniel were in the Civil War together ( taken from Mississippi ) however; so was Peyton's son, Jonson Olive, who was killed in Leeland, Virginia during an encounter of the war.His mother's name was Olive Johnson, hence the name.Peyton and Danielcould hve been cousins and they both named sons after themselves and the sons were about the same age.If anyone can help me to add to this history, please email me at:[email protected]
