Hello Maxine,
Thank you for the information you posted.I don't think this is my direct line, but they may be mixed in there somewhere along the line. When I first began researching George Lord married to Alice Sutcliffe, I did locate mine in Crawshawbooth, but I had also come across another George Lord married to an Alice on a Spotland census. Some of the children's names from both George and Alice's were the same.I kept wondering if they were related some how but haven't been able to determine whether or not they are related.
My William Lord listed above I believe married Louisa Crawshaw of Accrington, and they do also have a Hannah Lord born 11/18/1868 in Crawshawbooth.Other children include Martha, 1862, Zilpah born 9/18/1864 and died 9/26/1865Emily born 3/16/1867 all born in Crawshawbooth. The last child I have listed is Betsy Lord born 6/21/1874 in Heywood.
William was living with his wife, Louisa, next door to his brother, John, in 1861 census. The children's names are different from what seem to be the rest of the Lord's children's names though.
Alice Sutcliffe, I believe, was the daughter of a Robert Sutcliffe and Alice.
There is a George Lord and an Alice Lord married 4/28/1814 in St Chad, Rochdale, Lancahire. My George and Alice were married 12/15/1815 St James, Haslingden, Lancashire.
The Lord's aren't much better than the Pickup's.
Thans again for the info and please let me know if anything seems to match up.
Elizabeth
