On a recent trip to Pontotoc County, MS. I went in search of the cemetery where Benjamin Cruso Surett is buried, Mt. Liberty Baptist Church. I found it and his headstone. Next to him is Taylor Surett, I assume it is his son, with the dates of Born: November 10, 1874 Died: November 3, 1900.
B. C. and his brother Crockett lived in this county at least 1890 until 1894 because their children are on the school censuses there. The children of Crockett are listed as living with D. C. Suratt Range 4, Township 11. B. C. Suratt was in Range 2, Township 11 according to the book.
