I have a bit to share. I was given some information that says Elisha Sarrette "Duke of Mont Sarrette" b. 1747 in France, sailed and served with LaFayette during the revolutionary war. He returned to France, married, had a son, and then returned with his son to America at the onset of the French Revolution. It was said that his son was 2 years at the time, however, I have his son's birth rumored to be abt 1770. When they came to America Elish dropped his title and the last "e" on his name and became known as Elisha Sarrett. The son he brought with him was also named Elisha. They settled in Persons Co. NC. I was also told that Elisa Sr. had another son Willis Brn abt 1786 in Person Co. NC. Some of the dates don't match up, but it might help. I also have a descendent list for Elisha. Feel free to e-mail me and see if it helps. I too am looking for more information about the French connection. Anita Surrett
