Thanks William - I'll keep it in mind. I'm not really researching this family as my link is rather distant - my gg-grandfather, Francois Decoste, married Cecile, d/o Michel & Marie-Renee Gibault. I like to know where the ancestor who settled in New France came from. I now have the Surprenant line. His son Jacques married the widow of another of my ancestors, i.e. Jeanne LeDuc/Denote, widow of Andre Robidoux the Spaniard. That's what I find so fascinating about genealogy. You never know where it will take you.
