After much searching I have finally located my 2nd great grandfather in the 1900 census living in New Bedford, MA on Coggeshall St with his 2nd wife, Desire Branconnier, and some of their children. The surname appeared in the index as "Sheprant" and I was only able to find it using a first name search at Heritage Quest. Anyway, this is what I found: Napoleon born Jul 1833 in NY Desire, born Mar 1835 in Canada John (son) born Sep 1870 in NY Mary (daughter-in-law) born Mar 1865 in CT Eva, (granddaughter) born Sep 1895 in Mass Adolphus (grandson) born Jan 1897 in RI Fred (son) born in NH ca 1876 Virginie, (daughter-in-law), born Apr 1881 in RI Mary Bacon, (daughter) born Aug 1877 in RI Alexandra (?? hard to read first name), granddaugter, born Apr 1897 in Massachusetts. Does anyone else have any info on any of these people? I am still looking for thr parents of my Napoleon. He is definitely not the Leon Surprenant born to Alexis and Lucie (Constantineau) Surprise as has been suggested by many researchers. Leon was living alone in NY in 1900 and my Napoleon was in New Bedford, MA with wife and family. They also appear in another census reading in different places so I am 100% certain this Napoleon is not Leon. I'm looking to connect with anyone who is interested in or has more info on this family. I descend from Napoleon's first marriage to Genevieve Grenier aka Jane Greenough via their son Louis Napoleon Surprenant/Suprise who married (1) Sarah Louise Hersey in RI and 92) Clara Proulx in RI in 1907.
