My g/g/grandmother was Elizabeth SURMAN, born in 1834 and died in the US in 1880. She married Edwin HALL (from Harwell) in 1855 in the church of St Blaise, Milton.

Elizabeth's brother, Joseph SURMAN, married Thirza HALL, sister of Edwin. She died in 1859 and they had no children.

I typed in Thirza SURMAN on FreeBMD (births/marriages/deaths, http://www.freebmd.org.uk/cgi/search.pl) and it picked up two Thirza SURMAN names. One died in September, 1859 in Thame and the other in March of 1878 in Sunderland.

Obviously, the September, 1859 date is the one I am most interested in but the location of Thame surprised me. It isn't far from where other relatives lived (Harwell, Headington, Horspath, Great Milton), especially when compared to here in the US. However, no one has shown up in Thame in any other family document.

What other information can I get that would connect Thame and both Thirza and Joseph?

I am also curious about Thirza in Sunderland as there are other Thirza's in my family.
