Our Hanna family Bible appears to have been "second hand" and so far we can not connect our family to the others listed on its pages. Members of the Bell and Surginner families are listed in Births, etc. then a line drawn or space skipped and our Hanna family entered. As best as I can piece the information together there are four Bell siblings: James Bell, b. Jan. 29, 1815, d. Sep. 8, 1853; William S. Bell, b. Jan. 21, 1817; David Bell, b. Dec. 11, 1818; George Washington Bell, b. Aug. 20, 1821; Mary Anne Bell, b. Mar. 19, 1813 and married Aug. 20, 1832 to Jessie Surginner, b. Feb. 10, 1810. They had: 1.Richard Wright Surginer (one N) b. Jul. 11, 1833,( m. Jul. 18, 1855 to Fannie A. Lewis, and had Ella Thomas Lewis, b. Nov. 15, 1858); 2. Thomas J. Surginner b. sep. 10, 1834; 3. John Pleasant Surginner b. jun. 4, 1836; 4. Sarah E. surginner, b. Jan. 24, 1838, d. May 2, 1854; 5. Mary Ann Surginner, b. Nov. 19, 1839, m. Apr. 16, 1860 to Andrew L. Gragin; 6. Fannie L. Surginner, b. Nov. 20, 1841, m. Apr. 12, 1860 to F. M. Harrison; 7.Hariett T. Surginner, b. Aug. 30, 1844; 8. Mary Jane Surginner, b. May 11, 1846; 9. Jesse frederick Surginner, b. May 1, 1848; 10. Elizabeth Surginer, b. jun. 20, 1850; 11. Benjamin R. surginner, b. Feb. 17, 1852, d. Jul. 17, 1857; 12. George Washington Surginner, b. Oct. 17, 1854.----Our A. W. Hanna was born in Madison Co., TN and lived in north MS, he went breifly to Texas in the 1880's before settling in Shelby Co., TN in 1890. Not certain if the Bible was obtained by him or his son, Leonidas Hill Hanna. We thought at one time the Bible might have belonged to Leonidas' wife's family, but have not been able to determine a maiden name for her. She was a "Mrytle Ella" and we thought perhaps she was a Surginner.
