Thank you soooo much for all of that wonderful info!!! It was such a surprise to me when I was looking this stuff up and stumbled upon Frederick, like I said I hadn't even been aware of him before this, just the other three boys! It's maddening because the older members of my family are VERY close mouthed about the family history and have actually discouraged me from digging further - which of course only makes me want to dig further!

Raymond Sumner was my great grandfather, his son Maynard was my grandfather. Currently I'm trying to find more info on Edna Sumner, my grandfather's mother. She was killed in a horrible train/car accident when my grandfather was very young. He lost his only brother then as well. Luckily my grandfather went on to have 5 boys so at least the Sumner name can now go on. My husband and I know the feeling, as my husband was the last of his line until we had our son Matthew this last year!

Anyway, thanks again for sharing the info, I can't wait to look into Frederick's WWI history!!
