Summers in Fife
Looking for descendants of a branch of a tree. The earliest appears to be James Summers, linen weaver, married to Margaret, in Kinross, Scotland.
They had a son James Summers who was a mine pit head worker and school teacher. He married Catherine in 1825 in Kinross, but settled in Pittendreich/Balgeddie, by Portmoak, Kinross and by about 1834 in Abbotshall, near Kirkcaldy, Fife, where he was employed at Easter Touch colliery.
Amongst their children were Andrew (1829), David (1833), James 1837,and Robert 1839 all variously employed in the mines. They lived latterly in Chapel village on the north side of Kirkcaldy. The eldest daughter Mary married Thomas Welsh in 1846 which is my connection. Other daughters were Jane or Jean (1827), Catherine (1831), and Lucy (1835).
I wondered if anyone recognises this tree and knows more about them.
