Summers in TN , TX and OK
Loretta, in response to your e-mail regarding your ggrandfather Noah Summers b:1809, I have searched through all of my papers and can find a marriage date to wife #2 Mary Polly Brilley of 13 Aug.1827.Based on his date of birth he would only have been 18 when he married her, so that leaves a question as to the marriage date. Perhaps he was only married to wife #1 Elizabeth Catherine Hamilton a very short time, I cannot find any children by Elizabeth.According to the information I have there were eight children by Mary Polly Brilley:
Green b:1828, Martha Jane b:1832, Jessie b:1837, Caroline
b:1842, Ortemelia b:1844, Thomas Lyciugus Kirk b:l85l ,Launius b:1852 and
Harriet b:1854.Which of these children did you decend from?
I did find that Noah and John Edward's brother Braxton Parrish b:1826 lived in Talor County, TX and died in Pontotoc County, OK.Possibly the Judy that you spoke of was the child of one of Braxton's children, that would be about right for the 1920's.
Do you have any information on John Edward, Iknow that he was born in Sumner Cty. ,TN and married in Franklin Cty, IL where all of his children were born. That is as far as I can get with him, I can't find where he or his wife Elizabeth died or are buried. His son Isaac b:l840 is my husband's g-grandfather and Isaac's son Mitchell b:1872 is his grandfather.Mitchell moved from Tn to Texas and lived in Grayson County, TX where all of his children were born.He died in 1918 in Atoka County, OK and is buried in Bently Cemetary there. We do not know if he married in TN or TX.I am also searching for an OK connection, thinking that he might have moved there to be near relatives.
I would appreciate any information you might have on John Edward.
I find that posting things on Genforum is a great help as others are very helpful and will provide information when they have it.
Good luck on your search,
Margie
