Elkhana Summerfield married 1st: SARAH MARY KINCAID, who was b. 2 Nov. 1858 in Kanawha Co. VA d/o G.W. & Mary C. Kincaid; two children born of this union, Mary Summerfield and second child not named. Sarah Mary died in childbirth January 2, 1881 in Smithfield District of Roane Co. WV; Elkanah married secondly, his cousins widow, Malissa A.(Damewood) Summerfield. Malissa and Elkanah had children: Eva Jane; Lorena "Lori"; Fred R.; Brooks and 3 not named;
