SHREVEPORT, LA - Tommy S. Sullivan ("Tom") beloved husband, father, and friend died Friday, October 2, 2009. He was 70 years old. Tom's family and friends will celebrate his life during a funeral service at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 1815 Marshall Street, on Monday, October 5, 2009 at 2 p.m. Interment will be on Tuesday, October 6 at 3 p.m. at Necessity Cemetery in Breckenridge, Texas. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 6 - 8 p.m.
Tom was born in 1939 in Breckenridge, Texas to S.A. and Jane Sullivan. After graduating from Breckenridge High School, Tom began his career in the oil field working along side his father. In 1963, he married his sweetheart, Leta Glidewell. Tom and Leta raised a family of three daughters and recently celebrated their 46th wedding anniversary.
Tom loved his work in the oil field and was known for his dedication to his profession and his love of family and friends. In May, he celebrated 50 years in the business.
Tom is survived by his wife, Leta; his daughters, Kurenia Olague of Shreveport, LA, Michele Merz of Houston, TX, and Kelly Sullivan-Aldridge of Columbia, MO; his sisters, Willeen Fambrough of Breckenridge, TX, Juanita Bryant of Dallas, TX, and Nell Langford of Breckenridge, TX; three sons-in-law, seven grandchildren, 1 grandchild-in-law, 1 great-grandchild, 10 grand-dogs, and many other loving family members.
