New Website - Valuation Office Dublin

Dear fellow Listers,

I have noticed over the last few years that there is an opening for someone living in Dublin to carry out research in the Valuation Office, the Cancelled Land Books. I found my GG grandfather Daniel there 1846, he transferred to his two sons Patrick & James 1886, Patrick on his death transferred to his widow Norah in 1912, she transferred to her son Patrick 1922, he transferred to his widow Hannah in 1933, she then transferred to her son Patrick who then sold most of the farm in the 1960's to Rainbow Ltd. who used the river as a trout & mink farm.

Most of the transfer dates coincided with the actual death records.

Most of us on this list are do it yourself genealogists, not in the market for paying 50 euro an hour to professional genealogists, flights to Ireland and hotel accommodation are expensive plus it takes a few days to learn how to read the records in the Valuation Office.

I propose to launch a service shortly, details are on the website below, I would love to have your feedback
