John L's first wife was Annie Bates. They had one child, John L Jr. who died at about 2 years of age. He and Annie divorced many years later after living apart for two decades. In his later years, John L married Catherine Harkins and they had no children. John L had no direct descendants. His sister, Annie, though had ten children--eight of which grew to adulthood. I am descended from her line.
