This IS the 3rd son of my wife's ancestors who left Ireland during the famine of (abt) 1848. Other descendants are: Timothy (lost an arm in Civil War), Eugene (died in Ireland), Mortimer (my wife's great-grandfather - who moved from RI to Kansas and "became" an O'Sullivan sometime in that process), Daniel (died in Ireland abt 1848), Mary Anna (info above) and John Edward O'Sullivan (who also moved to Hutchinson or Kent, KS - died 1892).
Known "Sullivan" descendants live in Newport RI, and "O'Sullivan" descendants are in Austin, TX, Hutchinson, Salina and Wichita, KS, Kansas City metro area, Omaha and California.
I'm trying to extend the current history beyond the known descendants of this Jeremiah's brothers Timothy and Mortimer within the USA, and back into Ireland. For example, who was Jeremiah's uncle that sent his father money to come to America? Based on traditional naming conventions, Jeremiah's paternal grand-father might be Timothy, his mother Margaret's father may be Eugene, and we know that he had an uncle in Ireland - crippled in youth - that was a private tutor (possibly named Daniel).
Any information would be greatly appreciated.
