My immigrant ancestor was Patrick Sullivan born 1830 in Cork. He married Hannah or Hanora Wallace in Newburyport Massachusetts on 27 Oct 1855. She was also from Cork, daughter of William and Hannah Wallace, and she was born around 1835. They had four children: William (abt 1856), Patrick Henry (05 Mar 1857), Margaret ( 12 Jul 1859) and Jeremiah (18 Sep 1861). All four children were in Detroit Michigan for the 1870 census (Hannah now being a widow).
I know what happened to all of them except William. The 1880 census is incomplete and I can't pinpoint him on the later census reports.
Patrick emmigrated with his brother Jeremiah who was born in Cork around 20 Jan 1829 and died (suicide) in West Newbury on 10 Jun 1882. In Newburyport MA, he married Margaret Warren on 19 Nov 1854. She was from County Kerry, the daughter of Daniel and Mary Warren. I believe the couple met in Massachusetts. Margaret died in West Newbury on 06 Mar 1904. They had 8 children. I'm trying to track the ones who survived childhood.
They children, all born and died in West Newbury, were:
1. Margaret S. born Aug 1855 died 01 Dec 1856
2. John born 26 Jan 1857 died 04 Feb 1857
3. Patrick William born 10 Mar 1858 died 13 Dec 1934. He married Ann Jennie Gallagher around 1891 and had three children that I know of: Jeremiah Edward 1892, Vincent P. 1899, and Austin Lee 1902.
4. Catherine born Dec 1862 died 07 Dec 1936
5. Daniel James born Aug 1863 died 12 Aug 1932
6. Mary Ann born Dec 1866 died 12 Dec 1945
7. Abbie Elizabeth born Feb 1868 died 28 Feb 1941 married Thomas McGrath on 28 Nov 1900 and had five children: Mary P, John J. 1905, Thomas 1907, George 1909, Margaret 1911.
8. Jeremiah born 14 Jun 1869 died 27 Apr 1954
According to the census for West Newbury 1910 Jeremiah jr is listed as head of household and is living with Catherine, Daniel, and Mary Ann, all in their forties, and all apparently unmarried as there are no spouses listed and the females still bear the surname Sullivan.
I'd like to know what happened to these cousins and would appreciate any help I could get with obits, etc.
