Inasmuch as Blount Co TN wasn't formed until 1795, a year before TN became a state, that part was formed from Knox Co TN which in turn was formed from parts of Greene and Hawkins Co TN. Do you think your Major(s) were in Blount only when it was Blount Co, or before? If before, what other data do you have as to what county(ies) you are looking in and finding data on them?In 1830, there was a William and Smith MAJOR in Knox Co, and a Thomas MAJOR in Hawkins Co.I see Sullivan's in Hawkins Co, but none in Blount or Greene. Ezekial, John and Thomas Sullivan were in Hawkins (pg 81-82) in 1830. The Majors were on pg 372 in Knox in 1830 and pg 19 in Hawkins Co TN in 1830.Our library does not have the census film(s) for anything earlier than 1830 for this part of TN, and only starts with 1830 census index books for me to compare. Let me know, Mona.Haven't received the packet yet, unless it came Sat., or today!Still rootin' in TX!
