Daniel Sullivan b. ca. 1785 d. 1845
If you can provide any information on the possible ancestry of the following Daniel Sullivan please email me at [email protected]. Daniel Sullivan married Jean Griffin in about 1822 in what is now Lowndes County AL. They had four boys; James M., Daniel JR, Andrew Jackson, and Francis Marion. Daniel died in Lowndes County AL in 1845.
Daniel Sullivan Joined the 1st Regiment of the Mississippi Territorial Volunteers on January 20, 1813 for one year, until January 19th, 1814. This Regiment was under the command of Brig. General F.L. Claiborne, Colonel Cowles Mead and Colonel Joseph Carson. Sullivan is listed in the 1816 census of Monroe County, Alabama Territory.
Daniel Sullivan received a land grant on 27 August 1836 described as Range 14 East ; Township 12 North (Section 15?) East 1/2 of the SE 1/4....80 acres. This was very close to the land grant received by William Goodwin in 1836 described as Range 14 Township 11 Section 15; Southeast 1/4 of the Southwest 1/4.
No Documentation, but this Daniel Sullivan is very likely the Daniel that appeared in the 1810 and 1811, Washington County, Alabama Territory census.
