I also had great-grand parents who were in Franklin Township, Houghton County for the 1870 census.
They were Timothy and Johanna or Hannah Tobin Sullivan.There eventually were seven children, including my grandfather Patrick Sullivan.
Family verbal history indicates they came from Castletownbere in about 1860 and worked in the copper mines.
Eventually the family moved to Butte, Montana, once again for copper.
