Roots Question

I have a question about the Sullins family origins. From what I've seen, there are a lot of Sullins's in southern England & isn't that where the first Sullins to America came from? Yet, I also read that Sullins's are 'Scotch-Irish'. Can anyone explain this? Has a definitive family link been found to the Scotch-Irish?

Thanks for any insights.

Merrilee
