Thanks for letting me know he was s/o Samuel and Nancy.
Another researcher had sent a file with him as s/o Samuel's
brother Ransom and wife Catherine Rowland. Or were there
2 men named Johnson who were cousins? I know in my line of SUIT/SUITE in MD and some in NC too, there were several men called "DENT" as John Dent SUIT, Thomas Dent SUIT, etc.
and they just went by their middle name which was a surname of our ancestress, but it gets very confusing. I live in NC and have found several listings here for DENT SUIT. I also had info listing Johnson's wife as Marth CEARBE as spelled. I looked at my FTM and realized it is probably the same person. She was connected to the one who was listed as Ransom's son Johnson. Have you found any church records or baptismal records for him? I am very interested. My ancestor was also named Samuel SUIT but mine was the son of James SUIT who I can find almost nothing on except he died in St.Mary's Co MD in 1811 and
left a will, but no clue even who his wife was or when he
was born, etc. Good luck with your search. Bonnie
