I am related by the HOGAN line - Mary Jane Hogan Shugrue's father Martin Hogan was a brother to my great-grandfather James Edward Hogan, born 1867 in Stonington, CT; the Hogan brothers worked for the NYNH Railroad. The name Shugrue is found in Co. Kerry, but the Hogan line was supposedly from Co. Galway. Mary Jane Hogan was living in Stonington, CT, not sure where the Shugrues lived before they moved to Providence.

Martin was a former member of the Providence Police Department and also was a fingerprint expert of some kind with the FBI. My grandfather lent his tuxedo to Martin to attend a fancy dance when a teenager.

I have photos of Michael/Mary Hogan/Martin Shugrue stone in St. Francis (Catholic) Cemetery, Pawtucket, RI.
