We have Richard born 1748 died May 01, 1814 New Milford, CT
his brother Joseph born 1740. Their father Joseph born 1740 married Elizabeth. I think the parents are the Joseph and Elizabeth listed as being married at Malps Cheshire. Our Richard came to America circa 1766/68. He was a surveyor and school teacher. Married Abigail Wanzer widow of John Drinkwater 1782. Family researcher Paul Sudlow visited England and gathered a lot of information back in the 60's and 70's. He said that Joseph died and left the oldest son, Joseph, the largest inheirtence and Richard received a good education and went to America. However, this information is from letters and we don't have a will or court record. I have gotten a lot of information after the marriage to Abigail but little before. Joseph, Jr. line stayed in England and one of the relatives was Robert Sudlow of the Sudlow Pottery Company.
