Do you know where your "Haas" came into this country at? That info would be helpful. I have been researching "Spangenberg" They came to Texas in 1845, with Prince Solms from Germany. They came over by ship through Galveston, TX. They then ferried up to what is now New Braunfels, Blanco, Fischer, and several other communities in this area. I'll check my founding father books for New Braunfels, TX. There is a Haas listed as part of that group.
