Hi Everyone..Wish to thank all who connected to me to help in my family search on my Frank Thompson who married Annie Jane Somerville...5 years of hard work has paid off...Just last week I recieved an email from Bangor Ireland from the niece of my husbands grandfather who is 88 years old..She got he first lap top computor and went into google search...She put in her name and up popped my name that said I was looking for her and family members connected to my Thompson family...She has given me a wealth of information on my husbands grandfather and his family...Who was to think, That My Frank Thompson who eluded everyone, falsified birth records, falsified all kinds of documents was born Isaac Francis Thompson....came to USA in 1900 joined the Naval forces in Newport Rhode Island and changed his name to Frank Thompson Legge....Unbelievable.... A few words of advice to those of you who hit brick walls......My clues to my husband grandfather was there right from the beginning...I overlooked them 1.... When we went to cemetery to locate Frank's grave and find out about that big family lot we were told that the lot was bought by an Isaac Thompson.(We never asked when it got purchased which we will do so now that would have been our 3rd clue)...We started looking for a relative to Frank name of Isaac (of course we never found one) 2....Frank changed his name..this is common when coming to USA...However never thought it was that Drastic of a name change...Changed his name From Isaac Francis Thompson to Frank (Francis) middle name then became Thompson which was his surname and of course Legge which became his new last name...(Where ever he got that from) So look for those clues dont overlook them and your first clues could come right out of the cemetery lot itself.. Again Thankyou all so very much Flo Notify Administrator about this message?
