Is Cuber related to Suber????
Posted by: Julie Cuber Date: August 10, 2001 at 23:32:46

I am in the process of researching the surname "Cuber." There was---and he may still be living---a Dr. John F(rank)Cuber that was originally from Illinois. He was born in 1911 and was a sociologist/college professor. I am told he is a distant relative. Also, he is listed in the book of contemporary authors and it says "surname is pronounced soo-bur." So, naturally, I was wondering if there was any relation. I have also seen the name Szuber and that, perhaps, is Hungarian. But, I am not sure. The Cuber name is still a msytery and I would appreciate any information anyone could provide. Please e-mail me. Thank you.
