I am researching a branch of Stutzman's that came to Dawson County Nebraska from the Holmes County Ohio and Walnut Creek Ohio area in the late 1800's My great-grandfather's first wife was Cora Stutzman dob/7/14/1876 dod/1/23/1900 (his name was John Gottlieb Schmeeckle). On thier marriage certificate it lists her father as J.J. Stutzman (I believe the initals stand for John Jacob). Cora and John Schmeeckle had 1 daughter born in January 1900 (Cora died several days after her birth)her name was Louise Henrietta Schmeeckle-Applegate.
Cora had a sister named Amanda who married a local Veterinarian Charles H "Doc" Gerhart, a brother named Herbert (dob/7/1/1885 Milford, Nebraska) whose first wife's name was Blanche Jessie, a 2nd brother named John J (dob/12/3/1888 in Milford, Nebraska) who married Alma Bartlett, a 3rd brother Charles (yob/1881) whose first wife was named Tena Anderson, and I belive there is one more unidentified sibling if not more. Some of this families descendents went to Wyoming, and they may also have lived in the Deuel County (Chappell) Nebraska area.
Any help would be appreciated that would help me trace this family back as well as piece together the rest of this family group.
