Over the past 7 years, I have had the opportunity to conduct research on my Stütz family lines in the Waldviertel region of Austria (about one hour west of Vienna). I have all of this research posted at my website (http://austrianfamilyhistory.net) where it is available to browse at no cost. My earliest Stütz ancestor found in that region was born in circa 1600, but it is understood that these early Stützes originated in Bavaria. Our line came through Wisconsin and then on to Los Angeles where the family started several German language newspapers. This is all documented in the website as well as other helpful information about conducting genealogical research in Austria.
