Sturtevant (Samuel of MA)>PA>OH>IL>MO
Posted by: Audrey Garretson (ID *****5709) Date: June 24, 2005 at 10:09:23
  of 374

My research as follows...........
Samuel b/1654 & Mercy Cornish
Nehemiah b/1680/81 & Ruth Sampson
George b/1725 & Jerusha cushman
Perez b/1756 & Freelove Crocker
James b/1791 & Sarah Janes
James Edgar b/1821 & Lucretia Ranney
Charles James b/1862 & Nora Newell.
I chatted with RH Sturtevant of Waco, TX several years ago and have access to his book at the local library. Thus I have much of the dates and places.
My interest in is the lives/stories of these family journeys after they left the Sandy Hill, Kingsbury, NY area. Where did they live in PA & OH?
Did they go through Indiana or did they follow the Ohio River to Versailles, Brown Co., IL? Did they own property?
Sometime after James b/1791 left Kingsbury, NY, the spelling of the surname changed with son, James Edgar b/1821 to SturDevant. Was this by choice or an error of the writer at the time.
Are there any distant cousin's out there with additional data for Charles b/1862, Nora NEWELL, and Lucretia RANNEY
Any assistance appreciated
Audrey
