Foxall Sturman is an old name! You might know all of this, but the first Foxall Sturman that I have records of is the one that married Hannah Chilton (1726-1792). This Foxall Sturman a descendant of Thomas Sturman who came to Westmoreland Co. VA from England in 1657. On the same ship were John Washington (great grandfather of George Washington) and Andrew Monroe, ancestor to future pres. James Monroe. Sorry that I can't help you with your particular Foxall Sturman, I just didn't know that the name had continued into the 1800s.
