William Sturman b. abt 1821 VA

I am still researching the parents of my husband's great grandfather Silas N. Sturman.
William Sturman b. abt 1821 was married twice.
First wife was Anna UNKNOWN (probably married in Indiana, as the first two children were born in Indiana).
Second wife was Martha Jane Phipps (married 12 May 1857 Scott County, Illinois).

William STURMAN
Birth: abt 1821 Virginia
Census: 21 Nov 1850 Town 3S4W, (Pike Co), Illinois
Census: 26 Jul 1860 Greenfield PCT, (Greene Co), Illinois

Children of William & Anna:
Charles F. Sturman - b. abt 1846 Indiana
Mary E. Sturman - b. abt 1848 Indiana
Maria Sturman - b. abt 1850 Illinois
Lucinda Sturman - b. abt 1854 Illinois

Children of William & Martha:
Elizabeth Sturman - b. abt 1857 Illinois
Silas N. Sturman - b. 29 Jul 1859 Illinois - d. 18 Jan 1919 Terre Haute, (Vigo Co), Indiana

Elizabeth and Silas were living with their aunt Mary Phipps and her husband Daniel Goodpasture in the 1870 census (Rose Twp, (Shelby Co), Illinois), which leads me to believe that William and Martha Sturman had died prior to the 1870 census (5 Jul 1870).

So William was born in Virginia, migrated to Indiana for a bit, and then ended up in Illinois.

Thanks in advance,
Carol Sturman
