FYI, Thomas Sturman died BEFORE July 1651, when his son John Sturman made a petition in Kent Co., MD in which he stated that his father was already dead. Thomas' widow Ann's 1654 will does make it sound as if Thomas had died very shortly before she wrote her will, but John's petition clearly states that his father Thomas was dead by July 1651.

Also, John Sturman's wife's maiden name was NOT Hallowes. Following John's death, she married Major John Hallowes (also spelled Hollis), and this is her 2nd married name, NOT her maiden name. There is absolutely no documentation to suggest that her maiden name was also Hallowes.

Ancestral File info should always be taken with a grain of salt and verified, since anyone can submit anything to the Ancestral File, and the info in it ranges from well-documented to total garbage.
