C.H. " HOMER " TIPTON OF WEST VIRGINIA OBITUARY
This is my Grandfathers obituary and prayer. His obituary was in the Tuesday November 16th Register-Herald.
C.H. "HOMER" Tipton, 89, of Sophia, passed away Sunday, November 14, 2004.
C.H. was born August 28, 1915 in Pulaski, Va. He was the son of the late Charles E. Tipton and Goldie Sturgill Tipton.
C.H. was of the Baptist faith, an avid fisherman and worked 41 years in the mines.
C. H.was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Charles Tipton and Carl Tipton; and 2 sisters, Garnet Tipton Martin and Lula Tipton Cox.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Thelma Brewer Tipton; 2 sons, Harvey Tipton and wife, Norma, of Sophia and Michael Tipton and wife, Patty, of Alexandria, Va.; a daughter, Patsy Tipton Keith and husband, Joseph, of Beckley; 2 brothers, James Tipton of Mt. Airy, N.C., and Marvin Tipton of Hinton; 3 sisters, Lois Tipton Harmon of Sophia, Shirley Tipton McBride of Loveland, Ohio and Betty Tipton Bell of Beeson; 6 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Williams- Blue Ridge Funeral Home Chapel, Sophia with Pastor Roger Tolliver assisted by Kelly Bowman. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

A FISHERMANS PRAYER
I pray that I may live to fish
Until my dying day.
And when it comes to my last cast,
I then most humbly pray.
When in the Lord's great landing net
And peacefully asleep,
That his mercy I be judged
Big enough to keep.
