Edward STUDLEY, Minister's son

I am the grandson, on my mother's side, of Edward A. Strudley (close to the spelling, but not quite) and Nellie Creeland. I know they both worked for the Detroit Free Press in the 1880's and 1890's. They married around 1890, had three children, all girls, and moved to Washington, DC sometime around 1900. Edward Strudley was a bookbinder and worked for years with the Government Printing Office. Nellie died here in the late 1920's. I never heard of Edward being the son of a Presbyterian Minister. I thought he migrated to the US from Henley-on-Thames, England, perhaps in the 1860's. He died here in DC around 1943 and we were very close when I was very young.
Please let me know if this helps you. I look forward to hearing more about Nellie, who, I heard, immigrated from Ireland and lived in Lansing, Michigan for some time.
