Update re: Lucy now Lucian (Studebaker) Rubright.

I would welcome your help in my search for my ancestors Lucy

(Studebaker) Faidley and her daughter, Lucy Studebaker, who married

George Rubright.

She probably lived in Garrett, Summit Mills, Somerset Co. in later

years.

I am a descendent of Lucy (could be Lucian) Studebaker who married Peter

Faidley of Somerset c1840. I have searched the web for her but to date

have not located her.

I presume her married name was Studebaker, but I have no proof.

The Faidley family tree includes his marriage to her, her daughter (Lucy

Studebaker's name), and has informed me that her daughter was adopted by

Peter Faidley, but kept her Studebaker name.

I have recently discovered the following information about Lucian Studebaker (female)

1850       STUDEBAKER       LUCIAN       F Somerset

County       PA       256       Upper Turkeyfoot Township       Federal

Population Schedule       PA 1850 Federal Census

Index       PAS6a2836692

Lucian Studebaker Female 1850 Census

In the household:

Thomas Caton - age 48

Mary Caton - 66

Dinah Caton - 18

Lucian Studebaker - 6

Lucy Studebaker d 22 Jul 1911 father: Peter Faidley Catharine Caton

WOPeter Faidley

Peter Faidley married three times. His first wife ??, second wife was

Lucy Studebaker, third wife was Catharine Caton.

Take note that Lucian was in the Thomas Caton household when the 1850

census was taken. She was 6 years old.

I am guessing that Lucy Studebaker, m. to Peter Faidley, was deceased by

1860. Lucian was in the Caton household because Peter married Catherine

Caton.

=============

The 1830 Census lists the following Studebaker surnames

Jacob Studebaker of Bedford County

Jacob Studebaker of Cumberland County

John Studebaker of Bedford County St. Clair Township

===============

The 1840 PA census lists the following Studebaker surnames

Jacob Studebaker of Bedford County St. Clair Township

Jacob Studebaker of Bedford County Napier Township

==========================

1850 PA Census lists the following Studebaker surnames

Lucian Studebaker of Somerset County Upper Turkeyfoot Township

Nicholas Studebaker Franklin County Montgomery Township

Can anyone assist in discovering the relationship of my Lucy Studebaker

to any of the above-mentioned Studebakers living in the area? If so, please e-mail me at wmcurci@aol.com
