I just recently found out that an Augustus Studdard and John Buchanan Swords purchased land (both listed as grantees) from Amos Root, Richard Dickenson, Robert (W.L.?) High, and W.F. Martin (listed as grantors) in Morgan County, Georgia on Nov. 5, 1895. The property was more than 2,000 acres. Since I am researching John Swords, I have no other knowledge of the Studdards. Also, I don't have this documentation in hand. It was told/read to me by another person. I'm not sure of the name spellings, either. I hope this helps. Also, I can tell you that Augustus Studdard later sold his part of land ownership to John Swords but I'm not sure when. I also know this property was considered to be in the community of Blue Springs, in Morgan Co., GA. Eventually, the town name was changed to Swords, GA because John Swords did so much to develop the town. You can find Swords GA on modern maps. If I find more on Augustus' connection with my Swords line, I will post at this site.
