Lawson Stuckey's wife was Cynthia A. Williams born July 22, 1867 in Veale Township, Daviess Co, IN. I do not know her parents. She died March 8, 1950 in Washington and is buried at Oakgrove Cemetery with Lawson and her son Earl. I have not attempted to research her ancestry at this point.

I have puzzled for years over the marriage of "Sintha" Stuckey and Thomas Chadd. In all the years of research I have never turned up the name Sintha anywhere in this vicinity. Lawson's father was William S. Stuckey born in 1830 and his father was George Stuckey born in 1806 in Kentucky. George's father was Samuel Stuckey who came to this area about 1813. Samuel had several children but none were named anything that comes close to Sintha unless that is a nickname for something unlike it. I have researched this family and none married a Chadd.

Samuel had a brother Martin J Stuckey, Jr who settled in Martin County who had several children...again none with anything like the name Sintha.

Can you give me any information on Thomas Chadd? Maybe we could focus on him and turn up something. Is it possible that Sintha was not a Stuckey but married a Stuckey who died young and she remarried Thomas? Still I have found no Stuckey in that time who had a wife named Sintha, but I will keep looking.

I live in Daviess Co again after 45 years of being away. You can reach me at
