Stucker Family Genealogy Forum

I have posted this notice before. But, it has been quite some time. I am the administrator of a Stocker website that is intended for cousins who descend from Michael Stocker (1700-50). Michael came to the colonies in 1731 from the Palatinate. He landed, with his small family, in Philadelphia and settled just to the east of Reading. He and his wife, eventually, had 12 children, 10 of whom lived to adulthood. Three of four of the children eventually spelled their surname "Stucker", which was, apparently, the way that the original surname was pronounced in Switzerland. Those boys names were George, Jacob, John, and, perhaps, Henry. The boys grew up in Hereford Township in Berks County, not far from the Squire Boone family. George and Jacob became friends, as boys, with Squire's son, Daniel Boone. They eventually moved to North Carolina and, later, in 1779 to Kentucky with Boone. Henry may have been part of that migration, too. The rest of Michael's family remained in Pennsylvania. However, many of his grandchildren moved to Tuscarawas County, Ohio, in about 1815. They are all still named Stocker. Many of the Stuckers in Kentucky moved on to Indiana in the early 19th century.
We now have about 230 members of our family website, about half being Stuckers. We are constantly looking for other descendants of Michael's. If anyone out there thinks that they may be a part of our family, kindly drop me a note at lawyer1@bright.net, giving me as much of your lineage as is possible. I have great access to our family's lineage and can, hopefully, determine, if you are a member of our family. I look forward to hearing from some of you.
