Hi, Marie, I'm so sorry about the email mixup. I had completely forgotten I had blocked all mail from yahoo.com because I had been getting so much spam from yahoo users. I've unblocked it, so you will be able to get through in the future. I'm willing to put up with a little spam to get legitimate genealogy mail! Thank you so much for the census information. Where do you find it online? Isn't it interesting that James Stucker aged only 5 years between 1860 and 1870? Wish I knew that trick:) Also interesting that Lana's birthplace changed from VA in 1856 to TN in 1860. In the 1856 Iowa census, doesn't the "6" mean married 6 years? 27 Jul 1828 to 1856 is more like 28 years. I think this Lana may be a 2nd wife. That could explain a lot of things. I have seen the entry in the AGLL book for the marriage of James Stucker and Sarah Cronk in 1828, and it's also at the online Indiana marriage database (probably taken from the same book). However, we know from the 1860 census just how easy it is to misread Lanah for Sarah. Did the same thing happen when the marriage data was transcribed from the original script document to print media? I'd dearly love to have a peek at that original marriage license and minister's return. Do you know anyone who has access to the records of St. John's Lutheran Church in Galena, IN? That is the church the Cronk family attended. The minister at the time was Christian Moretz, and he officiated at the marriages of most of the Cronk children. I think I will try writing to the clerk of the Session and see if they have any information. Best regards, Arlene Notify Administrator about this message?
