Stubblebines/Battle-Axe Movement 1840's
In my research of the Stubblebines I have come across information about one generation of Stubblebines (1840's) who were involved in a very unusual religious group in Chester County PA.
Called the Battle-Axes, this movement was founded by a man named Theophilus Ransom Gates.At least two Stubblebine brothers were among his followers.For more information re: the Stubblebines who immigrated to this part of Penna. and then details about the Battle Axes, see this site:
